Sec. Fortunato T. de la Peña
Secretary, Department of Science and Technology
On behalf of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), I am honored to invite
the public to celebrate with us the hard work and achievements of Filipino scientists and
innovators at the 2018 National Science and Technology Week (NSTW).
This year, we will be featuring the latest and most innovative products, know-how, and
services developed and funded by Filipinos. More importantly, they are going to be displayed
in a manner that highlights their positive impact in keeping with the general theme "Science
for the People: Innovation for Collective Prosperity."
One of the major reasons for the NSTW celebrations is to provide an opportunity for the
country's researchers and scientists to meet up and interact with potential venture investors,
professionals, entrepreneurs, industry workers, and students. Such interaction and networking
activities between and among members of government, private sector, academe, and NGOs
are essential in bridging the S&T knowledge base and the people for which it ultimately serves.
More importantly, this major event is proof of the science community's strong commitment
to contribute and make a major impact in supporting the development priorities under the
administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Celebrate the NSTW with us at the World Trade Centre this 17 to 21 July 2018.
