DOST-XI conducts Davao’s research agenda webinar during 2021 regional science week

With the goal of strengthening research and development (R&D) in secondary and higher education, the Department of Science and Technology in Region XI (DOST-XI) conducted a webinar titled, “In Focus: Davao’s Research Agenda” on 12 November 2021 held virtually in Zoom platform and Facebook Live.

For this event, resource speaker, Dr. Rochelle Papasin, Special Science Teacher V and Research Coordinator of the Philippine Science High School, Southern Mindanao Campus (PSHS-SMC), presided over the webinar that aims to educate public and private senior high school teachers and students, state colleges and universities, as well as private colleges about the research agenda in Davao region in the light of the current pandemic.

“Educators and students are still coping with the proper conduct of research methods and practices in the new normal. It is very crucial to inform them with the trends in R & D, particularly on the research fields, disciplines, topics and how to align in the regional R&D agenda”, said DOST-XI Regional Director Dr. Anthony C. Sales, CESO III.

This event is one of the post-activities of the 2021 Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) celebration in the Davao Region. RSTW 2021 is part of the National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) virtual celebration that will be held on 22-28 November 2021 with the theme, “Agham at Teknolohiya: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon”.
